IRC Support

The Federation Sim Fleet is using the DiasporaGames IRC Network as it's official IRC Network, all group related Simulations and Events that are on IRC, use this network.

The DiasporaGames Network is a very stable one and has been around for several years now, at moment of writing these lines having 3 different servers located around the US it ensures Network stability and constant service to it's clients, you can check the Network Status here.

You can connect to the IRC Network using either of our Web Clients, both accessible from here, or alternatively you can use any IRC Client out there, using the following information, Server/Host: irc.sb254.com, Port: 6667.

The FSF has a dedicated general chatting channel on the network, named #FSF (enter by writing /join #FSF), for a complete list of FSF related channels, check the above link to the Web Clients.

The IRC Network uses advanced IRC Services software named Anope, that provides services such as Nickname and Channel Registration and a lot more. These tools assist us in running a well organized network that provides a nice chatting environment for the FSF.

Two helpful pages would be the FSF IRC Procedures & Policies and the FSF's Guide to IRC.

FSF IRC Administrators are experts in the IRC department and will be able to assist in any situation, they are listed below:

Connection Problems

If you are experiencing problems connecting to the IRC Network, it might be caused from several factors, if you're using an IRC Client, you should try setting the Server/Host info to irc.diasporagames.com and try to reconnect.
